Julie Carrick  ~  Bio

Julie Carrick was born and raised in Northern Michigan, Julie Fran Edel, the fourth of seven children. Her desire to serve Christ began at an early age and stems back to her involvement in Liturgical Music, following in the footsteps of 3 generations of Catholic Musicians. She worked within the Diocese of Phoenix for 10 years as Director of Music prior to accepting the call to a national and international concert and speaking ministry.

Julie is not your typical recording artist. Her real life experiences are shared in her speaking engagements, and formed into the lyric that are her songs.  The workshops she has developed have been beneficial to thousands of Catholics and other Christians in their spiritual development. Her witness shares the real heart of a woman who has experienced some of the toughest things in life and because of her Catholic faith, has stayed the course with Christ.  From dealing with infidelity in her marriage, helping an adult daughter through a rape that resulted in pregnancy and most recently a Lung Cancer survivor, she knows what it means to ‘live’ her Catholic Faith. Though not always ‘easy’ her life has been blessed with grace when she has needed it most.

Julie is married to Kurt Carrick, her husband of 25 years. They have 3 children, 2 sons-in-law and 2 grandsons.  They began their life together in Germany and after 5 years moved to Arizona.  Julie’s national concert ministry began in 1996. She has written and recorded 7 music CDs and a Rosary CD, in which she and Kurt pray together.

Kurt Carrick  ~  Bio

In the concert and speaking ministry, Kurt brings witness to men as he shares his experience as a husband and father. A gifted guitarist and vocalist, Kurt shares his gift of music in harmony with his wife and true love, while calling Catholics to their faith, church and family values. Kurt marvels in the presence of Christ as men thank him for sharing his testimony and faith through the powerful witness examples he gives and his expression through music. He recently said, "It's amazing to see grown men cry publicly, and take the chance to share with me what affected them."

Kurt earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with emphasis on Business Information Systems from DeVry University in 2006. Kurt worked in the private business sector for 10 years and the Department of Public Safety for the State of Arizona for 10 years. He then brought his business skills to Carrick Ministries Foundation.

Kurt and Julie were raised in Michigan and in 1982 they each moved to Arizona where they were married in 1983. Kurt served in the U.S. Army for 4 years during which time they lived in Germany and began their family. Upon returning to the U.S. in 1988, they made their home in Flagstaff Arizona until 1998.

They have been active in the Catholic Church, from music ministry to Engaged Encounter workshops for 10 years (from presenting weekends all the way to being part of the National Executive Team). They are also Benedictine Oblates and helped to establish a beautiful retreat center in the Flagstaff Catholic community. Since moving to Scottsdale in 1998, Kurt has developed personally as well as in his relationship with Julie, and together they have brought their individual talents, resources and identity as a couple, to Carrick Ministries Foundation.

Kurt was nominated for UCMVA 2004 "Songwriter of the Year", and received the 2006 Unity Award for "spoken Word Album of the Year" for "A Couples Rosary".

He was inducted into the honors society Sigma Beta Delta for academic excellence in business.

He is a 3rd Degree Knight with the Blessed Sacrament Knights of Columbus Chapter in Scottsdale, AZ
